As children we danced to the light
A sparkling joy
Unfettered by ill-begotten principles
Attempting to ignore the tendancies
Of our adult kin

Forgotten or treated as naivete
We’ve grown to find despondance
We shuffle along the edge
Of darkness
Doing harm to ourselves
To others
To our young kin

A growing vicious circle
At war with ourselves
We ignore our own beseechments
We wonder where does it end?

Twisting from our dim state
We stretch out our arms
Seeking guidance
From the strong
But small, gentle hands
Guide you back to the light
Remind you of your joy within
And whispers softly,
“Dance with me again”
