🎨🤖 Exploring the Intersection of Art & Technology 🤖🎨

AI-generated art is evolving at a rapid pace, pushing the boundaries of what we consider creativity and authorship. With advancements in machine learning, AI can now analyze thousands of artistic styles, generate original compositions, and even mimic brushstrokes with stunning accuracy. From digital paintings to AI-curated galleries, the landscape of art is shifting—but is a machine an artist, or is it just another tool for human expression?

Yet, despite its growth, AI art faces resistance from many in the art world. Authenticity, emotional depth, and artistic intent are central to human-made art, and many argue that AI lacks the personal experience and soul behind each brushstroke. Questions of originality, authorship, and even the impact on traditional artists continue to stir debate, making AI art a controversial yet fascinating topic.

💭 This reminds me of a day 20 years ago when I brought my own digitally created art to a festival of the arts, hoping to see if my work would sell. Many people stopped, admired my pieces, picked them up, and complimented them—until they asked the inevitable question:

“These are great! Are they acrylic?”

When I honestly told them they were digitally created using a mix of different mediums and technologies, their excitement vanished. The same people who had just admired my work would politely thank me and walk away—as if the art had lost its value the moment they knew how it was made.

That moment stayed with me. It showed me how deeply ingrained traditional views of art still are—that for many, the process matters more than the result. Now, with AI-generated art entering the scene, I see echoes of that experience. Will AI art face the same skepticism, or will perceptions change over time?
