Our Extemporaneous Speak-a-thon is one of the most exciting events of the Toastmasters calendar—where speakers are challenged to deliver 1–2 minute speeches with no script and no time to prep. It’s a true test of creativity, courage, and communication.
Speakers will draw random prompts ranging from the light-hearted to the thought-provoking. Whether you’re reflecting on your favourite sandwich or pondering the ethics of time travel, this night is all about thinking fast and speaking boldly.
Guests can even help judge the action! And yes—guests are welcome to join in the fun, if you’re feeling brave!
One member once stood up and, with just a few seconds to think, launched into a hilarious monologue about being abducted by polite aliens. That impromptu speech not only won “Audience Favourite,” it also gave her the confidence to believe she could handle anything—on stage or off.
